Sarasota Events and Festivals
Posted July 4, 2008
Sarasota is a city that almost seems to revolve around festivals and events all year round. There are events as big as the Sarasota County Fair and as simple as the Palm Avenue Friday Night Art Walk which occurs the first Friday evening of each month.
One such event, the annual Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix's annual downtown "Parade of Boats" went off with a hitch this past weekend. It was enjoyed by all and brought millions of dollars in revenue to
merchants and local businesses and merchants at every level. Adults, kids, and even dogs watched as more than 30 power boats rolled down the street each towed by a huge rig.
The annual Parade of Boats, part of the Suncoast OffShore
Grand Prix Festival in June - July is but one of several seasonal events that take place in Sarasota Florida during the year.
The Sarasota Film Festival, the Sarasota SpringFest and the Sarasota County Fair in March, the St Armands Art Festival in October, and the Taste of Sarsota Golf Festival, the Annual International Invitational Auto Show
of antique and classic automobiles, and the Sarasota Blues Festival all in November plus the Sailor's Circus showcasing high school performers in December, all keep things hopping
in this vibrant town.
On an on-going basis, the Sarasota Florida area is also blessed by other wonderful and varied assets like the Sarasota Ballet,
the Florida West Coast Symphony and the
Sarasota Classic Car Museum and the Selby Botanical Gardens.
